Corrupt Bill Clerk Nabbed Accepting 500 Rupees Bribe
1 min readDharamshala, November 22: The Himachal Pradesh State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau have arrested a corrupt bill clerk red-handed while accepting a bribe of 500 rupees. The incident took place in the Kangra district’s Jwala area.
The vigilance team, acting on preliminary information, caught bill clerk Kailash Chandra, son of Lekhoo Ram, in the office of the executive engineer of the Public Works Department in Jwala, accepting a bribe of 500 rupees.
According to initial reports, retired government employee Baljeet Singh, a resident of Haripur under the GIA fund, had filed a complaint alleging bribery, which led to the operation. The complainant, who retired from the position of driver in 2020, had been issued a sum under the GIA fund, and during the process, a bribe was demanded. The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Dharamshala confirmed the arrest of the bill clerk.
