In a shocking double murder case in Una’s Bhadsaali Panchayat, police arrested five suspects, including advocate Deshdeep Jaswal and his retired tehsildar father. The incident occurred over a land dispute when Deshdeep shot and killed Sanjeev Kumar, husband of Panchayat Pradhan Saroj Kumari, and her son Ravindra Kumar using a licensed gun.
Una SP Rakesh Singh revealed that the accused was a national-level rifle shooter. The police recovered the murder weapon and presented all five accused in court. Earlier, four suspects, including Deshdeep’s father, were apprehended on Monday evening, while Deshdeep was arrested on Tuesday morning.
The incident unfolded after a physical altercation between the two families over a prolonged land dispute. Following the scuffle, Deshdeep retrieved his gun and committed the murders. The tragedy has left two women widowed and raised serious concerns over escalating property disputes in the region.
