HRTC Bus Falls Near Havani, Several Injured

A major road accident was reported in the Sarkaghat subdivision of Mandi district on Saturday morning, when a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus lost control and plunged off the road into nearby fields on the Gobhadta–Nili route. Around 15 to 18 passengers, including the driver, were injured in the mishap.
How the Accident Happened
According to information, the HRTC bus was travelling from Gobhadta to Sarkaghat via Maseran. The accident occurred at around 8:00 AM near Havani village under Samsauh Panchayat, when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the bus to roll down the roadside.
The bus eventually stopped in a field, preventing a more serious tragedy.
Rescue Operation
Hearing the crash, local villagers rushed to the spot and immediately began rescue work. The injured passengers were pulled out and taken to Civil Hospital Sarkaghat using private vehicles.
Reports suggest the driver sustained serious injuries, while other passengers suffered minor injuries. The bus conductor escaped unhurt.
Police Action
DSP Sarkaghat Sanjeev Gautam confirmed the incident and said a police team reached the spot. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
Mandi Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma has also confirmed the accident.
