Bilaspur Tragedy: Hit-and-Run Accident Claims Life of Scooter Rider

Bilaspur, September 16 – A tragic incident unfolded on National Highway 205 (NH-205) that connects Chandigarh to Manali via Nouni as a hit-and-run accident took place on Saturday afternoon, resulting in the untimely death of a scooter rider. The accident occurred when an unidentified vehicle collided with the scooter rider, who was subsequently rushed to the Kothipura AMS Hospital. Unfortunately, the rider succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Prakash Chand, a 60-year-old resident of Daper village in the Jhandutta Tehsil of Bilaspur district. According to available information, Mr. Chand was returning home from some errand when the tragic incident occurred. He was heading towards Jhandutta from Nouni when an unknown vehicle collided with his scooter.

DSP Bilaspur, Madan Dheeman, while providing details, mentioned that upon making a call, the scooter rider was struck by an unidentified vehicle, resulting in his unfortunate demise. The body has been handed over to the family, and efforts are underway to trace the vehicle responsible for the accident.
