Governor performs bhoomi pujan for ‘Parmarth Eco Village’ at Manei

Governor Kavinder Gupta today performed the Bhoomi Pujan for Parmarth Eco Village at Manei (Bhadrela) in Kangra district. He said that the initiative is an important step towards environmental conservation and human service.
On the occasion, the Governor said that the project should be developed as a centre of learning and inspiration where students, farmers, researchers, youth, entrepreneurs and community groups could understand and adopt nature-friendly lifestyles.
He said that the development and environmental protection are complementary and we are not the masters of nature but its custodians. It is our responsibility to preserve the Earth in a clean, safe and prosperous condition for future generations. He highlighted the importance of protecting Himachal Pradesh’s forests, rivers, biodiversity, natural water sources and fragile Himalayan ecosystem, while promoting tourism, agriculture and horticulture in a sustainable manner.
Referring to initiatives such as ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Amrit Sarovar Abhiyan and Mission LiFE, the Governor said environmental protection was a shared responsibility of every citizen. He expressed hope that the Eco Village would promote organic farming, local products, traditional knowledge, eco-friendly tourism and sustainable livelihoods, creating new opportunities for farmers, women, youth and self-help groups. He also paid tribute to Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati for connecting spirituality with human service and environmental conservation and expressed confidence that his guidance would give the project a distinct identity.
The Governor appreciated Vrinda Foundation Trust for conceptualising the initiative and congratulated its patron, Dr. Meghna Chaudhary, for her vision and commitment.
