Kuldeep Rathore Calls for Protection of Voting Rights, Urges Support for November 1 Rally

Shimla, October 27, 2026: Congress national spokesperson and Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore said the party was fighting a major battle to protect the Constitution, democracy and voting rights in the country.

Addressing a march under the ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ campaign in the Tiyali zone of Theog constituency on Tuesday, Rathore announced that Congress would organise a major rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1 under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.

Rathore criticised what he described as the declining state of democracy and alleged that the Election Commission was functioning under the influence of the BJP. He also accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of threatening citizens’ voting rights through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, claiming that more than 13 crore people could be deprived of their voting rights. He said the ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’ movement would continue until Kumar was removed from office.

The march was attended by booth presidents, panchayat presidents and a large number of Congress workers from the Tiyali zone.

District Congress (Rural) president Harikrishna Himral urged office-bearers of the Theog Block Congress Committee and party workers to travel to Delhi for the November 1 rally. He said the INDIA alliance rally would raise its voice against the BJP government and demand the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner.
