IEC University Students Explore IT Industry During Mohali Visit

Students gain practical exposure to software development, AI and cybersecurity

Baddi, October 14: Students from IEC University’s Department of Computer Science and Technology visited Avaptech Solutions in Mohali on October 13 to gain practical insights into IT industry operations and emerging technologies.

Organised by the department and the Training and Placement Office (TPO), the industrial visit introduced undergraduate and postgraduate students to the software development life cycle, agile project management, quality assurance and software deployment.

Technical sessions covered cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, full-stack development, DevOps and cybersecurity. Students also watched live demonstrations of ongoing company projects to understand real-world industry practices.

During interactions with engineers, project managers and HR professionals, students learned about career opportunities, industry requirements and the technical skills needed for employment in the IT sector. An interactive question-and-answer session further helped clarify their queries.

IEC University Vice-Chancellor Dr Ashok Puri and Registrar Dr Prahlad encouraged students to complement classroom learning with practical experience and develop an understanding of emerging technologies. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between academic education and industry requirements while preparing students for future career opportunities.
