Junior Annual Appreciation Day Celebrations at St. Thomas School

St. Thomas School, Shimla, celebrated its Junior Annual Appreciation Day with great enthusiasm and festive spirit. The vibrant event saw active participation from young learners ranging from Nursery to Class 5.

The celebrations commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the esteemed School Principal, Mrs. Sharon Nanda, and School Manager, Mrs. Vidhupriya Chakravarty, alongside the distinguished Chief Guest. Anushi Sharma, the acclaimed actress and director from the Himachal film Khoonta, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while renowned Khoonta movie producer Mukesh Modi attended as a Special Guest.

During the event, School Principal Mrs. Sharon Nanda welcomed all the guests and parents and presented the school’s annual report, highlighting the students’ achievements in sports, academics, and other co-curricular activities.

The event featured a diverse lineup of performances, including a welcome speech, a welcome song, a musical play, and song presentations. A major highlight of the junior appreciation day was the play titled Guardian of the Forest, which completely captivated the audience. Through their performance, the children promoted environmental and natural conservation, beautifully delivering powerful messages about respecting nature, forgiveness, and fostering friendship with the environment.

In her address, the Chief Guest commended the school for providing students with a stage from an early age, noting that such platforms help build self-confidence and nurture artistic appreciation. She added that alongside academics, these activities greatly assist children in discovering and developing their hidden skills. The memorable event successfully concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where students were honored and felicitated for their exceptional performances and efforts throughout the year.
