Judo Is Not Just Sport but Discipline: Anirudh Singh

Shimla, September 28: A two-day inter-college judo championship began at Government College Koti, Chayal-Koti, on Monday, with Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh inaugurating the event.

Addressing participants from colleges across Himachal Pradesh, Singh said judo was not merely a sport but a discipline that instilled values among youth. He urged participants to compete in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

A total of 31 teams are taking part in the championship, including 18 men’s and 13 women’s teams. College Principal Dr Deepashikha Bhardwaj welcomed the chief guest and said hosting the competition was a matter of pride for the institution.

Singh said most of the college’s requirements had been addressed and assured that vacant posts of lecturers and assistant lecturers would be filled soon. He also announced Rs 50,000 for the successful conduct of the judo championship.
