Agri Machinery Portal Opens in Kangra; Farmers Can Apply Till Sept 30

Dharamshala, September 22, 2026: The Agriculture Department’s Agri Machinery Portal has opened in Kangra district from September 22, inviting online applications from farmers seeking subsidies on agricultural machinery under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization.

Eligible farmers can apply through the Government of India’s DBT portal, agrimachinery.nic.in, for the purchase of farm equipment. The last date for submitting applications is September 30, 2026.

Deputy Director Agriculture, Kangra, Dr Ashok Kumar said the application process for 2026-27 has commenced and urged eligible farmers to apply within the stipulated deadline. Under the scheme, small and marginal farmers, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers, and women farmers can avail subsidies of up to 50 per cent on the purchase of agricultural machinery.

Modern equipment, including power tillers and power weeders, is being made available under the scheme. The use of such machinery is expected to reduce labour and save time, particularly in farming operations in hilly areas.

After completion of the online application process, eligible beneficiaries will be selected through a lottery on October 1, 2026.

The Agriculture Department has advised farmers not to wait until the last date and to submit their applications well in advance to avail the benefits of the scheme.
