JUIT and MY Bharat Shimla Organize ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh’

Students Take Pledge for a Drug-Free India and Participate in MY Bharat Youth Initiatives

Shimla, 19 September 2026:
Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India in collaboration with Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat organized a Yuva Connect Programme – ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh’ at JUIT, marking the commencement of the 100-week campaign under the Nasha Mukt Yuva initiative.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse, promote healthy and responsible lifestyles, and encourage meaningful youth participation in social and nation-building initiatives.

Shri Vipin Kumar, Deputy Director, MY Bharat, Shimla conducted an orientation session on the MY Bharat Portal, apprising students about registration, profile creation and opportunities available through the platform, including quizzes, youth programmes, volunteering and other youth engagement activities. He encouraged students to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) Quiz and make active use of the MY Bharat platform.

An awareness session on **Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat* was delivered by Mr. Vishal Mishra, Youth Icon, who sensitized students about the adverse personal, familial and social consequences of substance abuse. He emphasized prevention, healthy lifestyles and the role of youth in spreading awareness against substance abuse.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ashok Kumar Nadda and Dr. Pardeep Garg, NSS Programme Officers, JUIT.The NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme and were encouraged to utilize MY Bharat and NSS platforms for volunteering, leadership development and social engagement.

As part of the programme, students participated in a signature wall activity, took the Nasha Mukt Yuva pledge, and participated in the VBYLD Quiz.The activities reaffirmed the commitment of the participating youth towards promoting a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.

The programme formed part of the 100-week ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ campaign, aimed at strengthening youth awareness, participation and volunteerism while encouraging young people to contribute towards the vision of a drug-free India and Viksit Bharat.
