First District-Level Sensitisation Workshop on Rural Entrepreneurship Held at GDC Seema

Seema (Rohru), Shimla, September 18, 2026: The first district-level sensitisation workshop on entrepreneurship was organised at the Pre-Rural Incubation Centre, Raja Virbhadra Singh Government College, Seema (Rohru), under the RAMP scheme.

The workshop, organised in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (HPCED), Industries Department, and The Planet Education Society, aimed to promote entrepreneurship, self-employment, startups, innovation and micro and small businesses among rural youth and students.

More than 150 participants, including over 130 students and 20 college staff members, attended the programme. Experts provided guidance on starting businesses, developing entrepreneurial skills, local business opportunities, government schemes and institutional support.

A key highlight was the entrepreneurial journey shared by Manisha Sangta, founder of local startup MAVCLO. She spoke about building her fashion studio and startup, encouraging students to turn ideas into sustainable ventures through innovation, skills and perseverance.

The workshop concluded with a call to youth to identify local opportunities, embrace innovation and become job creators rather than only job seekers.
