HPV Vaccination Conducted at DAV School Lakkar Bazar, Shimla

Shimla, September 14: An HPV vaccination session was conducted at DAV School, Lakkar Bazar, Shimla, by the Health Department team of Urban Shimla, under the ongoing HPV vaccination campaign for adolescent girls.
During the session, 16 adolescent girls aged 14–15 years were vaccinated against Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
Chief Medical Officer, Shimla, Dr. Yashpal Ranta, urged eligible adolescent girls and their parents to come forward for HPV vaccination and appealed to schools to actively support the Health Department in creating awareness and ensuring maximum coverage among eligible girls.
He emphasized that HPV vaccination is an important preventive measure against cervical cancer and encouraged schools, teachers and students to spread correct information regarding the vaccine and motivate eligible girls to get vaccinated.
The Health Department reiterated its commitment to expanding HPV vaccination coverage across the district through school-based and outreach sessions.
