Governor meets ex-servicemen in Hamirpur, takes up their concerns

· Announces Rs. 5 Lakh for Shaheedi Smarak
Governor Kavinder Gupta interacted with ex-servicemen at Hamirpur, yesterday and took note of the issues concerning their welfare and well-being.
Director, Sainik Welfare Department, Brigadier Madan Sheel Sharma, apprised the Governor of various issues being faced by ex-servicemen and their families, besides the status of the pending construction of the Shaheedi Smarak at Hamirpur.
The Governor assured the ex-servicemen that their genuine concerns would be taken up with the state government for appropriate action. He also announced a contribution of Rs.5 lakh towards the Shaheedi Smarak.
Emphasising the need to complete the memorial at the earliest, the Governor appealed to the Members of Parliament and MLAs to come forward and contribute towards its construction, so that the Shaheedi Smarak could be completed at the earliest as a fitting tribute to the valour and supreme sacrifices of the martyrs.
