Roots Country School MD Sunil Rohta Honoured with Indian Excellence Award 2026

Shimla, August 30, 2026: Roots Country School, Kotkhai, Shimla, Managing Director and Shimla Swimming District President Sunil Rohta was honoured with the Indian Excellence Award 2026 for his contribution to the fields of education and sports.

The award was presented jointly by Ladli Foundation, Himachal Rainbow Star Club and Govind Sagar Adventure and Water Sports Association. The honour was conferred under the joint initiative of Ladli Foundation State President Shalu Akhtar, Himachal Rainbow Star Club office-bearers Narmada Sharma and Diksha Sharma, and technical representatives of Govind Sagar Adventure and Water Sports Association Rakesh Kumar and Ishan Akhtar.

Along with the award, Sunil Rohta was presented with a traditional Himachali cap and shawl.

Representatives of the participating organisations said Rohta was recognised for his sustained efforts to promote education and sports and for working towards making these opportunities more accessible at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Rohta said he remained committed to taking education and sports to rural areas across Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country. He said continued efforts would be made to provide children and young people with better opportunities to develop their academic and sporting potential.

Representatives of Ladli Foundation, including Neelam Thakur, and Himachal Vikas Seva Sansthan State Vice-President Rashid Mohammad and Anshul Thakur were also present.

Office-bearers of Himachal Rainbow Star Club, Sarvadharma Samabhav Rashtriya Manch, Ladli Foundation, Himalaya Vikas Seva Sansthan and Govind Sagar Adventure and Water Sports Association attended the programme.
