Awareness Camp on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Organised at ITI Sairi

Solan, August 26, 2026: The Child Development Project Kandaghat organised an awareness camp on the theme *Beti Bachao Beti Padhao* at the Industrial Training Institute, Sairi, today.

Advocate Poonam Sharma provided detailed information on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, 1994, the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act and legal provisions related to domestic violence.

Police Department representative Tulsi Ram briefed the participants on relevant laws and the role of the police in protecting women and children.

Tehsil Welfare Officer Bhopal Bharat sensitised the participants about the harmful effects of substance abuse and measures for de-addiction. Child Development Project Officer, Kandaghat, Raksha Sharma, provided information about various schemes being implemented by the department for the welfare of women and children.

The camp aimed to sensitise departmental heads and officials about women and child protection, legal provisions, prevention of substance abuse and measures to address social evils.

Officials and heads of various departments, along with supervisors and block coordinators of the Child Development Project Kandaghat and students, participated in the awareness programme.
