1,550 Girls in Hamirpur Receive HPV Vaccine Under Cervical Cancer Prevention Drive

CMO urges eligible girls and parents to participate in vaccination campaign
Hamirpur, August 24: As many as 1,550 girls in Hamirpur district have received the HPV vaccine under the ongoing campaign aimed at protecting girls aged 14-15 years from cervical cancer.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Satish Kumar Photedar said the district administration and health authorities are now focusing on schools to achieve the campaign’s 100 per cent target. Discussions have been held with Education Department officials, and schools have been encouraged to organise teacher-parent meetings to create awareness among eligible girls and their families and encourage vaccination.
Block Medical Officers across all six health blocks of the district have also been directed to explore the possibility of organising vaccination sessions in schools as required.
Dr Photedar highlighted the importance of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer and urged all eligible girls and their parents to participate in the campaign and help the district achieve its target.
