Shimla, August 17, 2026: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh has said that the construction of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) building at Shoghi will be completed within nine months. The project has an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore.

Inspecting the ongoing construction, Singh directed the contractor to expedite the work. He said the PHC would be equipped with modern healthcare facilities, including a trauma centre to ensure timely treatment in case of emergencies.

The minister also chaired a ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ programme at Shoghi Panchayat Bhawan, where residents and representatives of six surrounding panchayats raised issues related to roads, electricity, drinking water and rural development. Singh directed officials to take necessary action and assured that adequate funds would be made available for development works.

He further said 30 new electric buses have been sanctioned for Shimla Rural, of which 18 are already operational. The remaining 12 buses will be introduced soon, with Shoghi among the areas to be covered. Plans are also underway for a bus stand and HRTC sub-depot at Shoghi, along with a rain shelter and an overbridge near the bus stand.

Singh also inspected the Shoghi-Thadi-Salana and Phail-Rampuri via Matholi link roads and visited the Mahunag Temple at Shagin during the Nag Panchami celebrations.
