Self-Enumeration Facility for Multhan Residents Available from August 17 to 31
1 min readDharamshala, August 13: Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer, Kangra, Hemraj Bairwa, said that Census 2027 will be India’s first digital census and will be conducted in two phases, with mobile app-based data collection as well as a self-enumeration facility for citizens.
The first phase, covering house listing and housing census, was completed across Himachal Pradesh from June 16 to July 15, 2026. Information regarding housing conditions and facilities available in households was collected during this phase.
The second phase will cover population enumeration. In the snowbound areas of Kangra district, particularly Multhan tehsil, population enumeration will be conducted from September 1 to 30, 2026. In the remaining areas of Kangra district, population enumeration will be carried out in February 2027.
For residents of Multhan, the self-enumeration facility will remain available from August 17 to 31, 2026. Citizens can securely submit their information online through the designated portal during this period.
After completing the self-enumeration process, citizens will receive an SEID (Self-Enumeration ID). They will need to provide this ID to census personnel during the subsequent house-to-house data collection for verification.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all residents of Multhan to make maximum use of the self-enumeration facility and extend full cooperation in making the census exercise successful. He also urged residents across the district to cooperate with census officials and field staff.
He said Census 2027 will provide the foundation for generating vital population-related data for the country. He urged citizens to provide accurate and complete information and actively contribute to the success of this important national exercise.
