Minister Vikramaditya Singh Inspects 24×7 Continuous Pressurised Water Distribution Project Works Under Package 10

Shimla, August 11, 2026:
Himachal Pradesh Urban Development and Public Works Minister Shri Vikramaditya Singh today visited various project sites under Package 10 of SJPNL’s 24×7 Continuous Pressurised Water Distribution Project in Shimla to review the progress of ongoing works. He visited Kachi Ghati, Boileauganj, Advance Studies, Summer Hill and Tara Devi areas.
The Minister was accompanied by representatives from SJPNL, SUEZ Pvt. Ltd. and Tata. The teams briefed him on the progress of pipeline infrastructure development, pipeline laying, road restoration and construction of new water storage tanks being undertaken under Package 10.
The works are being carried out by SUEZ Pvt. Ltd. for SJPNL as part of the 24×7 Continuous Pressurised Water Distribution Project. The Minister reviewed the ongoing activities and was apprised of the efforts being undertaken to strengthen and modernise Shimla’s water supply infrastructure.
Funded by the World Bank, the project is the first of its kind in Himachal Pradesh and aims to provide Shimla residents with a safe, reliable and continuous 24×7 water supply through a modern and pressurised distribution network.
Under the project, existing pipelines are being replaced with modern infrastructure, along with the construction of new water storage tanks, strengthening of the water distribution network and restoration of roads and other affected surfaces after completion of the works.
The works being undertaken across Kachi Ghati, Boileauganj, Advance Studies, Summer Hill and Tara Devi under Package 10 are an important step towards strengthening Shimla’s water infrastructure and developing a modern, reliable and sustainable water supply system for the city.
