Engineering and Polytechnic Faculty to Receive Cybersecurity Training

Hamirpur, August 10: A training programme on “Cyber Security: Trends, Tools and Applications” is being organised at Government Polytechnic Hamirpur from August 10 to 15. The programme is being attended by 31 faculty members and research scholars from various AICTE-approved engineering colleges, polytechnic institutions and universities.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Rajeev Chandel of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NIT Hamirpur. Highlighting the growing importance of cybersecurity in the digital era, he said technical expertise, awareness and knowledge of the latest cybersecurity tools were essential to effectively address emerging cyber threats.

Dr. T. P. Sharma, Associate Professor at NIT Hamirpur and the keynote speaker, briefed participants on contemporary cybersecurity challenges and effective techniques for protecting digital systems and information.

Principal of Government Polytechnic Hamirpur, Chandrashekhar, welcomed the chief guest, speakers and participants. He said that with the growing use of digital technology, awareness and technical knowledge of cybersecurity had become increasingly important. He added that the training would familiarise participants with the latest cybersecurity trends, tools and their practical applications.

He said experts from reputed academic institutions, industries and various organisations would conduct lectures and technical sessions on different aspects of cybersecurity during the upcoming sessions of the programme.

Principal Chandrashekhar congratulated programme coordinator Dr. Amit Nagar and the faculty members of the Computer Engineering Department for organising the training programme successfully. He said such initiatives would help faculty members and research scholars update their knowledge and skills in line with rapidly evolving technological requirements.
