Tourism Entrepreneurship Development Programme Concludes at HPI Shimla

Shimla, Aug. 3: A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on “Tourism-Based Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Local Enterprise Development” concluded successfully at HPI, Talland, Shimla, with 25 aspiring and existing tourism entrepreneurs from across Himachal Pradesh participating in the training.

Held from July 30 to August 1, the programme provided participants with practical insights into tourism entrepreneurship, branding, digital marketing, financial management and government support schemes. Sessions also covered eco-tourism, cultural and adventure tourism, homestays, local cuisine, handicrafts, destination branding, quality certification and responsible tourism practices.

Participants developed business plans and presented their tourism enterprise ideas before an expert panel on the concluding day.

General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Sanjay Kanwar, distributed participation certificates and encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage Himachal Pradesh’s tourism potential by building sustainable and financially viable enterprises.

The programme aimed to strengthen entrepreneurial skills and promote sustainable tourism-led economic development in the state.
