Shimla, July 22 : A delegation of city residents has opposed the proposed installation of ‘Seven Wonders’ replicas on the historic Mall Road, urging the Municipal Corporation to preserve Shimla’s architectural heritage and colonial character.
The delegation met Mayor Surender Chauhan and Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, stating that modern installations would be out of place on the heritage promenade. They urged the civic body to prioritise projects that reflect Shimla’s history, culture and local heritage instead of altering the city’s original identity.
The delegation included Dr Kimi Sood, Pinku, Sanjeev Chauhan, Tarun Rana, Yogendra Pundir and Chandrashekhar.
