For Esley Verma of Panjyali village in Hamirpur’s Majhog Sultani area, life changed dramatically after losing both parents at a young age. While relatives offered support during difficult times, uncertainty about education, shelter, and the future remained a constant challenge. Today, thanks to the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana, Esley is pursuing a brighter future with confidence and dignity.

Esley’s mother passed away in 2007, and after the death of his father in 2020, he and his two siblings were left without parental support. Their lives took a positive turn with the launch of the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana, which recognises orphaned children as “Children of the State” and provides comprehensive assistance until the age of 27.

Under the scheme, Esley receives a monthly financial assistance of ₹4,000 while pursuing a Junior Basic Training (JBT) course. His younger brother is studying for an ITI diploma, and the family has also received ₹1.5 lakh under the housing assistance component of the scheme. Combined with support from other sources, the assistance has helped them nearly complete the construction of their permanent home.

Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Esley said the scheme has provided not only financial security but also renewed hope for a stable and self-reliant future. He described the initiative as a lifeline for thousands of orphaned children and young people across Himachal Pradesh, enabling them to pursue education and build independent lives with dignity.

The Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana has emerged as a pioneering welfare initiative, offering support for education, professional training, self-employment, housing, and marriage while ensuring that vulnerable children receive care and opportunities to realise their aspirations.
