CM calls for dedicated efforts to protect rights of children

The newly appointed Chairperson of the District Child Welfare Committee, Una, Omkar Kapila, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today. He thanked the Chief Minister for reposing faith in him and entrusting him with the responsibility of safeguarding the rights and welfare of the children in Una district.
Congratulating the new Chairperson, the Chief Minister said that the present state government was firmly committed to the welfare and overall development of children. He said that several initiatives had been started to safeguard children’s rights and support their holistic growth and well-being. He stressed the importance of ensuring that these schemes effectively reach the people they were intended to benefit.
Sh. Sukhu said that the Child Welfare Committee should work with dedication to protect the rights of children, ensuring they receive justice whenever required and promote greater public awareness of the child welfare and protection.
Sh. Kapila assured the Chief Minister that he would carry out his responsibilities with commitment and sincerity, working in line with the government’s policies to safeguard the rights and interests of the children.
Former MLA Satpal Singh Raizada expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for accelerating the pace of development in Una district. He said that, under the Chief Minister’s guidance and support, the district had witnessed significant progress.
During the meeting, they also held detailed discussions on several important development issues concerning the region as well as the plans for future projects.
