Solan Clinches Overall Sports Trophy at State ITI Women’s Sports Meet

Shimla, June 28: The 34th State-Level Government ITI Women’s Sports Meet concluded at ITI Chaura Maidan with Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap presiding over the closing ceremony. A total of 408 participants from 11 districts took part in the four-day event.
Addressing the gathering, Kashyap said sports play a vital role in building discipline, confidence, leadership, teamwork, and a healthy society. He also administered an anti-drug pledge to participants, urging youth to stay away from narcotics and contribute towards a drug-free Himachal.
In the sports events, Solan won the volleyball and kabaddi titles, while Shimla emerged champion in kho-kho. Kangra secured first place in badminton. Solan was crowned the Overall Sports Champion, while Shimla bagged the Overall Cultural Trophy after excelling in singing, skit, and march-past competitions.
The Deputy Commissioner felicitated the winners and congratulated the organisers, participants, and officials for the successful conduct of the championship.
