International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at LR B.Ed. College

Solan, June 20, 2026: LR B.Ed. College celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm at the college badminton court. This year’s celebration was centered around the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being across all age groups.

The programme commenced with an address on the significance of yoga in everyday life. Principal Dr. Nisha Sharma encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily routine, emphasizing that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a holistic way of life that fosters balance, health, and inner harmony. She noted that the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” underscores the role of yoga in ensuring a healthy and active lifestyle at every stage of life.

The practical yoga session was conducted by B.Ed. second-year students Diksha and Ritika, who served as yoga instructors for the event. They guided participants through various yoga postures, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, and Vajrasana, along with pranayama practices such as Anulom Vilom and Kapalbhati. They also explained the correct techniques and health benefits associated with each practice.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all B.Ed. trainees and faculty members. The campus resonated with positivity, discipline, and a shared commitment to health and wellness throughout the session.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nisha Sharma stated that such programmes aim to create awareness about the importance of yoga and promote a message of health, harmony, and positivity within society.

Managing Director Ms. Shachi Singh appreciated the efforts of the department and emphasized that incorporating yoga into daily life has become increasingly important in today’s fast-paced world. She highlighted yoga’s role in helping individuals lead healthier, more balanced, and stress-free lives.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem. On the occasion, all B.Ed. trainees pledged to make yoga an integral part of their lives and to inspire others to adopt a healthy lifestyle through regular yoga practice.
