Shimla, June 8: A three-day State Resource Group (SRG) capacity-building workshop under the SEE Learning (Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning) programme commenced in Shimla to enhance emotional well-being, ethical decision-making and social responsibility among school students.

Organized under Samagra Shiksha, the residential workshop is bringing together teachers, DIET officials, coordinators and representatives from Piramal Foundation to develop an action plan for the effective implementation of SEE Learning in Himachal Pradesh. The programme is currently being implemented in 100 schools across Kangra and Hamirpur districts.

Speaking at the workshop, SEE Learning State Coordinator Varsha Sood said the initiative aims to build emotionally resilient, compassionate and ethically aware students while strengthening teachers’ ability to create supportive learning environments.

Senior Programme Director of Piramal Foundation, Zishan Hasan, emphasized that the programme goes beyond academics by fostering resilience, compassion and ethical discernment among children. He highlighted the growing need to equip students with emotional strength and sound decision-making skills to navigate modern-day challenges.

The workshop will focus on trainer development, school-level activities and future strategies to expand the programme’s impact across the state.
