Auckland House School’s Rakshita Wins State Gold, Selected for National Karate Championship

Shimla: Auckland House School student Rakshita Thakur has brought laurels to her school and district by winning a Gold Medal at the Himachal Pradesh State Karate Championship held at Baijnath in Kangra district on May 16 and 17, 2026.

Rakshita, a Class 6 student, showcased outstanding talent, discipline and determination during the championship, which was organised by the Karate Association of Himachal Pradesh. Around 300 participants from all 12 districts of the state competed in the event.

Her impressive performance at such a young age earned widespread appreciation and secured her selection for the upcoming National Karate Championship, where she will represent Himachal Pradesh.

The achievement has been celebrated by the school management, teachers and fellow students, who congratulated Rakshita for her remarkable success and wished her the very best for the national-level competition.

School authorities said Rakshita’s accomplishment reflects the growing interest of young students in sports and martial arts and serves as an inspiration for other budding athletes to pursue excellence through hard work and dedication.
