CM offers floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

• Unveils monument of Architect of Equality

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, at Chaura Maidan, Shimla on his birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister said that Dr. Ambedkar was a visionary statesman and a pioneering social reformer who dedicated his life to upholding equality, justice and the rights of marginalized communities. He added that while drafting the Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar ensured equal rights for all citizens and made an invaluable contribution to strengthening democratic values in the country.
The Chief Minister said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was the architect of the Constitution of India who contributed to promote social harmony and equality. He saw Education as a potent tool which could equally empower every citizen to build an egalitarian society. He worked throughout his life for the welfare and rights of the backward sections of the society and the poor. Sh. Sukhu urged to take inspiration from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s values and ideals.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled Dr. Ambedkar’s monument of Architect of Equality and stated that Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy continues to inspire and guide the nation in building a progressive and inclusive India.
The artists of the Information and Public Relations Department sang devotional songs on the occasion.
Health Minister Col. (Dr.) Dhani Ram Shandil, State President of Congress Party Vinay Kumar, MLA Harish Janartha, Mayor Shimla MC Surinder Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Bhupender Attri and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion amongst others.
