Opposition Questions CM’s Silence on Chief Secretary Row, Seeks High-Level Probe

Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has intensified his attan the state government over the ongoing controversy involving the Chief Secretary, questioning the Chief Minister’s silence on the issue.
Addressing the media, Thakur said the matter has sparked widespread debate across the state, with questions being raised both inside the assembly and on public platforms. He alleged that despite repeated demands by opposition leaders in the Assembly, the government has failed to provide a clear response.
Thakur questioned the Chief Minister’s claim of being unaware of the issue, calling it “unbelievable” given the seriousness of the allegations, including alleged violations and benami dealings. He demanded a high-level, impartial inquiry into the matter and strict action if wrongdoing is established.
He further alleged that the government is under pressure from certain officers and claimed that internal conflicts within the authorities have worsened the situation.
The opposition has urged the government to break its silence and ensure transparency and accountability in the matter.
