Hamirpur: A spectacular air show by the Indian Air Force will be held at Sujanpur Tihra grounds on March 25 and 26, marking a first-of-its-kind event in Himachal Pradesh.

Deputy Commissioner Gandharva Rathore reviewed the preparations in a meeting with district officials, Air Force representatives, and Sainik School authorities. He said the show will be organized from 10:45 am to 11:30 am, during which nine aircraft of the prestigious Suryakiran Aerobatic Team will perform thrilling aerial maneuvers.

The aircraft will operate from Air Force stations in Chandigarh and Adampur. Special arrangements are being made at the venue for dignitaries, students, and the general public. A dedicated commentary cabin will also be set up, from where Air Force officers will describe each maneuver live for spectators.

Calling it a unique opportunity, the Deputy Commissioner said the event will be especially beneficial for students. Instructions have been issued to ensure participation from educational institutions in Sujanpur and nearby areas, including parts of Kangra district and Mandi district.

Officials said the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, Asia’s only nine-aircraft aerobatic team, is regarded among the best in the world and has represented India in several international air shows.

Senior administrative and Air Force officials were present during the meeting.
