Training Held in Chamba for First Phase of Census-2027 Preparations

Chamba, March 13: A district-level training programme for preparations of the first phase of Census-2027 was conducted in Chamba under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal.
The DC informed that the census will be conducted in two phases. The first phase, House Listing Operation, will be held from May 12 to June 10, focusing on data related to housing and household facilities. The second phase, the population enumeration, will be conducted from February 9 to March 5, 2027.
He said that the upcoming census will be carried out digitally through smartphone-based mobile applications, which will ensure faster and more accurate data collection. He urged residents to cooperate with enumerators and provide correct information.
During the training session, Assistant Director Anil Kumar briefed officials about the procedures, guidelines and operational aspects of the census. Enumerators and supervisors will be deployed to conduct door-to-door data collection across the district.
Senior district officials, including SDMs of various subdivisions, municipal representatives and revenue officers, participated in the programme, where queries were addressed and coordination strategies discussed for the smooth conduct of the census.
