Women Empowerment Celebrated with Inspiration and Cultural Vibrance at Bahra University

A vibrant program celebrating women empowerment was organized at Bahra University, where Mrs. Poonam Thakur, Assistant Commissioner, Excise & Taxation, Himachal Pradesh and Nodal Officer, addressed students and faculty as the Guest Speaker.
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Avinash Rai Khanna, former Member of Rajya Sabha; Chancellor Sardar Gurwinder Singh Bahra; Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Kant Dave; and Registrar Sh. Vineet Kumar (Ex-IAS), along with faculty members, staff and students.
The campus was filled with enthusiasm as women faculty members, staff and students actively participated in various cultural performances, making the celebration lively and energetic. The highlight and apple of the eye of the event was the Fashion Show, which beautifully showcased different roles and professional verticals where women are excelling while balancing their day-to-day responsibilities with confidence and grace.
During her inspiring address, Mrs. Poonam Thakur, who was awarded Miss India Goddess 2025 – 1st Runner-up, shared real-life experiences from her professional journey and spoke about how dedication and perseverance helped her balance administrative service with her passion. She emphasized that education should always come first, and once empowered with knowledge, women should confidently pursue their dreams and passions.
On the occasion, the Chairman of Rayat Bahra Group emphasized the importance of equality in society, stating that women today are excelling in every field and are no less than men. He added that inspiring personalities like Poonam Thakur serve as true role models for the younger generation.
