Traffic Restrictions Near Mahla Ghar Due to Landslide Mitigation Work

District Magistrate Mukesh Repaswal has issued orders to temporarily control the movement of vehicles till March 31, keeping in mind the public interest and safety in view of the ongoing landslide mitigation work in Mahla Ghar under National Highway-154A Chakki-Chamba-Bharmaur road.
The District Magistrate, exercising the powers conferred under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, has issued orders to control traffic by temporarily stopping (holding) the movement of vehicles for 25 to 30 minutes per hour as per requirement during working hours from 6 am to 6 pm every day till March 31, 2026.
The order issued by the District Magistrate said that these orders have been issued after being informed by the National Highway Division, Chamba, Public Works Department and keeping in mind public safety during the ongoing works related to landslide mitigation.
However, it has also been clarified in the order that during the operation of emergency services like ambulance, fire brigade and police vehicles, they will be allowed to move without any delay.
