Assessment Camps for Artificial Limbs and Assistive Devices in Hamirpur

Hamirpur, March 5: Assessment camps will be organized across different sub-divisions of **Hamirpur** this month to provide artificial limbs and modern assistive devices to differently-abled persons and senior citizens.

The initiative is being carried out by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, Mohali, in collaboration with the District Administration Hamirpur and the Indian Red Cross Society.

Additional Deputy Commissioner and Vice President of the District Red Cross Society Abhishek Garg informed that the camps will be held at Gram Panchayat Bhakredi (Barsar) on March 16, District Welfare Officer Office Hamirpur on March 17, Tehsil Welfare Officer Office Sujanpur on March 18, Gram Panchayat Kalur (Nadaun) on March 19, and Panchayat Office Bhoranj on March 20.

During the camps, eligible beneficiaries will be assessed for free assistive devices such as wheelchairs, tricycles, motorized tricycles, crutches, walking sticks, smart canes, smart mobile phones, walkers, and hearing aids. However, testing for eyeglasses and dental implants will not be conducted.

Persons with 40 percent or more disability can avail benefits by bringing a passport-size photograph, Aadhaar copy, UDID card, disability certificate, and BPL or income certificate (annual income up to ₹2.70 lakh). Senior citizens aged 60 years or above can also benefit by presenting Aadhaar, photograph, and BPL or income certificate (up to ₹1.80 lakh annually).
