CCTV and Drone Surveillance Begins
Bilaspur, February 27: The Municipal Council Bilaspur has announced strict action against littering, imposing fines ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹50,000 per individual for dumping waste in public places. Senior Executive Officer Varsha Chaudhary informed that CCTV cameras and drone surveillance have been deployed to monitor hotspots, including hills and drains where garbage accumulation has raised health concerns and affected the city’s cleanliness.
Following a recent inspection chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, authorities identified multiple garbage dumping hotspots. The Municipal Council has also launched a door-to-door awareness drive through self-help groups, urging residents to segregate wet and dry waste and hand it over to sanitation workers instead of dumping it indiscriminately.
Residents, shopkeepers, and institutions have been appealed to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness and protecting the city’s environment.
