DC Directs Special Health Camps, Ensuring Welfare Schemes for Sanitation Workers

Bilaspur, February 27: Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar chaired a district-level vigilance committee meeting under the Manual Scavengers Employment Prohibition and Rehabilitation Act, 2013, emphasizing comprehensive welfare measures for sanitation workers. He directed the Jal Shakti Department and Municipal Council to organise special health check-up camps and ensure regular medical monitoring. Stressing that every eligible sanitation worker must benefit from government welfare schemes, he also instructed timely payment of wages and provision of quality safety gear, including masks, gloves, and uniforms. Officials were urged to strictly implement all standard safety protocols and ensure social security and dignity for sanitation workers.
