Distributes Sewing Kits to Women
Shimla, February 23, 2026: PWD and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh inaugurated development works worth over ₹24 crore during a one-day visit to Ghanahatti in Shimla Rural constituency. The projects include retaining walls along NH-205, paving and drainage work in Ghanahatti market, and 13 km road metalling and tarring between Chakkar and Darlaghat. The minister also distributed sewing kits to 300 women entrepreneurs under a skill development initiative supported by Tata Power and Usha International, encouraging women-led economic growth. Highlighting ongoing development, he said projects worth ₹375 crore have been executed in Shimla Rural despite disaster-related challenges. He also urged women to play an active role in spreading awareness against drug abuse and announced ₹5 lakh from MLA funds for Ghanahatti panchayat.
