HPNLU hosts Webinar on “Enhancing Research Visibility and the Use of ORCID”

Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla (HPNLU), under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice Chancellor, successfully organized a webinar titled “Enhancing Research Visibility and the Use of ORCID” on February 21, 2026. The webinar was organized by the HPNLU Library in collaboration with the Department of Library and Information Science, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala under it head Prof. Shivarama Rao, Head, Department of Library and Information Science, Central University of Himachal Pradesh and was supported by the ORCID Global Participation Fund (GPF). Dr. Mohit Garg, Assistant Librarian (SS) at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, served as the Resource Person for the session.
The session aimed at equipping faculty members, research scholars, and LL.M. students with essential knowledge and practical tools to enhance the visibility and impact of their research. Dr. Mohit Garg elaborated on the importance of maintaining a consistent scholarly identity, the effective use of ORCID as a unique researcher identifier, and strategies for improving global discoverability of academic work. The interactive session addressed queries related to research profiling, citation tracking, and integration of ORCID with various research databases and publication platforms.
The webinar witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and LL.M. students, reflecting the University’s continued commitment to fostering research excellence and strengthening academic visibility at national and international levels. The webinar was organized by. Praveen Kumar, Library In-Charge, HPNLU and Arun Kumar, Organizing Secretary of the event.
