Fresh Delimitation Process Initiated

Nahan, February 20: Deputy Commissioner Sirmaur Priyanka Verma has issued a notification cancelling the earlier notified electoral wards of the Zila Parishad in the district. The decision has been taken following directions from the Himachal Pradesh Government to undertake a fresh delimitation of Zila Parishad constituencies.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that any objections or suggestions regarding the new delimitation can be submitted to the DC Office within seven days from the date of notification, after which no representations will be entertained. As part of the proposed changes, the formation of new Gram Sabhas — Tokio from Gram Sabha Senwala Mubarikpur in Paonta Sahib block and Chamra Moharhad from Gram Sabha Balikoti in Shillai block — has also been included in the delimitation process.

Detailed information regarding the delimitation of Zila Parishad wards will be available at the District Council Office, Panchayat Samiti offices, and all Gram Panchayats in Sirmaur.
