Tight Security Arrangements for Assembly Session; Shimla Divided into Sectors

Shimla, Feb 14, 2026: Ahead of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly session starting February 16, the district administration has strengthened law and order arrangements by dividing the city into five administrative sectors and four police sectors. Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap chaired a review meeting, directing officials to ensure smooth proceedings and effective coordination among departments. Key areas including the Assembly complex, Ambedkar Chowk, Kennedy Chowk and Cart Road will remain under strict monitoring, with dedicated officers deployed for each sector. Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said police and Home Guard personnel have been fully mobilised and alerted to maintain security during the session.
