Anurag Singh Thakur Appointed to JPC on Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill 2025

Himachal Pradesh, Feb 13: Former Union Minister and MP Anurag Singh Thakur has been appointed as a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed to examine the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025. The proposed legislation aims to replace the University Grants Commission (UGC) with a new Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan framework to reform higher education governance. Chaired by Dr. D. Purandeswari, the 31-member committee will review key provisions of the bill to align them with India’s education reform goals. Thakur is currently serving as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Steel, Coal and Mines and a member of the Public Accounts Committee.
