Kangra, Feb 08, 2026: Several people fell ill after a diarrhoea outbreak in Upper Panapar village under Gram Panchayat Panapar, which falls within the jurisdiction of Community Health Centre Dehra. Some patients are currently admitted at Dehra hospital, while others were treated and discharged.
According to information, dozens of villagers developed symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, and fever after consuming food at a wedding function held last week. Initially, a few affected persons sought treatment at private clinics, but as the number of cases increased, patients started reporting to the Dehra Community Health Centre.
Till the time of filing this report, around 30 patients had received treatment at Dehra hospital. Of these, eight patients are currently admitted and undergoing treatment. One patient, whose condition deteriorated, was referred to Civil Hospital Palampur.
The health department team, led by Dr Naveen Rana, is closely monitoring the situation and has visited the affected village. ORS packets and medicines have been distributed among villagers as a preventive measure.
Due to the limited number of beds at Dehra hospital, some patients are now being referred to Bhawarna Hospital. Doctors and staff at Dehra hospital are providing necessary medical care, and the situation is being kept under continuous observation.
