Industries Department Tableau Highlights MSME Growth at Ridge Ground

Shimla, January 26, 2026: The tableau presented by the Industries Department of Himachal Pradesh became one of the main attractions during the state-level Republic Day celebrations at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla. It highlighted the achievements of HIM MSME Fest 2026, with special focus on the display of 4,023 handloom shawls woven by local artisans, which created a Guinness World Record and showcased the state’s rich handloom tradition.
Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan said the tableau reflected Himachal Pradesh’s strong industrial potential by combining traditional crafts with modern initiatives, moving the state towards self-reliance and sustainable economic growth.
Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) R.D. Najeem stated that the display demonstrated how the state’s industrial policy is helping transform traditional strengths into globally recognised success stories.
Commissioner of Industries Dr Yunus highlighted that HIM MSME Fest 2026 provided an important platform for micro, small and medium enterprises to showcase products, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The tableau also featured leading startups, departmental schemes, the One District One Product initiative, women entrepreneurship programmes and CEO interaction sessions that have helped attract investment and promote enterprise-led development.
Additional Director of Industries Tilak Raj Sharma said these initiatives are creating a supportive environment for business growth and are expected to strengthen the state’s economy in the coming years.
