Akash Educational Services Limited (AESL), a national leader in test preparatory services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army to support the welfare of Army personnel and their families. The initiative will benefit serving members, retired soldiers, gallantry award winners, differently-abled personnel, and families of soldiers martyred on duty.
Under the agreement, AESL will provide special benefits and scholarships to Indian Army students enrolling across all its centres and branches nationwide. The MoU was signed by Colonel Ceremonial and Welfare-3 and -4 from the Indian Army, and Dr. Yash Pal, Chief Academic and Business Head (Delhi NCR) at AESL.
As per the scholarship provisions, children of Army personnel martyred in the line of duty will be required to pay only the registration fee, with a 100% waiver on all remaining fees. Children of gallantry award winners and personnel with more than 20% disability will receive a 100% tuition fee waiver. Meanwhile, children of serving and retired Army personnel will be eligible for a 20% tuition fee discount, applicable after adjusting other scholarships.
In addition to these benefits, AESL’s existing scholarship schemes will continue for all aspiring students.
AESL Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Chandra Shekhar Garisa Reddy, stated that the organisation believes education is the strongest foundation for a bright future. He added that through this partnership, AESL aims to honour the sacrifices of soldiers by providing quality education, mentorship, and counselling support to help their children achieve their full potential and emerge as future leaders.
During the MoU period, AESL will also offer comprehensive mentoring and counselling support to children of Indian Army personnel through both virtual and physical modes, addressing academic and career-related queries.
Recently, AESL also signed a similar MoU with the Central Reserve Police Force Family Welfare Association (CRPF FWA) to extend educational support, scholarships, and career guidance to CRPF personnel and their families across the country.
