1 min read

Shimla, Jan 08, 2026: The Sankat Mochan Temple Park in Shimla has been given a new lease of life after nearly 15 years, following an initiative taken by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap. The park has been renovated at a cost of around ₹20 lakh and will soon reopen for tourists and local children.

Located near the revered Sankat Mochan Temple, the park had fallen into disrepair, with broken swings and inadequate play space. After inspecting the site last year, the DC ordered its restoration. The upgraded park now features new swings, play equipment, decorative elements, seating arrangements and a green carpet to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for children. The work is expected to be completed within a week, after which the park will be opened to the public.
