State-Level Republic Day 2026 to Be Celebrated at Shimla’s Historic Ridge: DC Anupam Kashyap

The State-Level Republic Day Function 2026 will be celebrated with enthusiasm and grandeur at the historic Ridge Ground, Shimla, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said while chairing a preparatory meeting. He directed all departments to begin coordinated preparations to ensure the event’s success.
Around 25 marching contingents including Army units, paramilitary forces, police, NCC, NSS, Home Guards, Scouts & Guides, ex-servicemen and disaster response teams will participate in the parade, which will also feature a helicopter flower shower. Nearly 24 government departments will showcase welfare initiatives through colourful and informative tableaux.
The DC also instructed the Animal Husbandry Department to ensure that all stray cattle are shifted to gaushalas within 15 days, with the initiative highlighted through a tableau. Cultural programmes reflecting Himachal and other states’ folk traditions will add vibrancy to the celebrations, with alternative indoor arrangements planned in case of bad weather.
