Special Law & Order Plan Enforced in Shimla for Winter Carnival, Christmas and New Year

Shimla, December 23, 2025:
The Shimla district administration has implemented a special law and order plan in view of Winter Carnival Shimla 2025, Christmas and New Year celebrations. The plan will remain in force from December 24, 2025 to January 2, 2026, District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap announced.
Under the plan, Shimla city has been divided into five sectors, each placed under the charge of a designated administrative officer, while overall supervision will remain with ADM (Law & Order) Pankaj Sharma. Police deployment has already been ensured for all sectors.
The District Magistrate said the plan aims to maintain smooth law and order, ensure tourist safety, and regulate traffic during the festive rush. Ambulances will be stationed at entry points to the city, and visitors have been urged to follow traffic rules, avoid over-speeding, reckless overtaking and drunk driving.
The sectors cover areas including Shoghi, Mall Road, Ridge, Lakkar Bazaar, New Shimla, Kufri, Mashobra, ISBT Tutikandi and major traffic points, ensuring comprehensive monitoring across the city.
