Six Disaster Mitigation Proposals Cleared for State Review

Shimla, December 22, 2025:
Six major disaster mitigation proposals from Shimla district have been approved at the district level and will now be forwarded to the State Disaster Management Authority for final sanction. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap on Monday.
The proposals include:
- ₹8.55 crore for repair of the Cart Road–Annandale route
- ₹1.48 crore for slope protection near Rihana in Kasumpti
- ₹1.50 crore to prevent landslides on the Mangsu Road, Kumarsain
- ₹1.99 crore for mitigation work at Pander Kanchi Chatog
- ₹8.63 crore for relief work in sinking zones from Ramchandra Chowk to Hennalt Public School and Housing Board Colony, Jakhu
- ₹10.74 crore to prevent landslides near the National Law University
DC Kashyap shared that these projects address vulnerable zones affected by past disasters or areas showing increased risk. Estimates were prepared by the Public Works Department and have been endorsed by the District Disaster Management Authority.
The meeting was attended by ADC Divyanshu Singhal, ADM (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, and other officials.
